Porcelain veneers is a cosmetic dentistry solution that transforms good smiles into amazing ones. These thin shells of ceramic bond directly to the surface of your teeth, altering their alignment, shape, and color.
We recommend getting dental veneers when:
- You have gaps between your teeth
- Your teeth are cracked or chipped
- Your teeth are discolored
- Your teeth are misaligned
- Your Smile is not as broad, full or symmetrical as you would like it to be
WHAT TO EXPECT
During your consultation, Dr. Gore will examine your teeth and determine if veneers are ideal for your teeth. He will take into account what goals you have for improving your smile and what the veneers can realistically do to enhance your smile. On a subsequent visit, we will prepare the teeth and place temporary acrylic covers over your teeth to protect them while the permanent porcelain is being made and to give you a “preview” of what the final result may be like. Once you are satisfied with the temporaries, Dr. Gore will instruct the laboratory to “mimic” the temporaries to make the permanent porcelain veneers, Dr. Gore will then bond them onto your teeth using a special technique with a light to make them very strong.
After the veneers are placed you will have a follow-up appointment to do any final cosmetic artistic contouring or shaping of the porcelain if necessary, the harmony of the bite between upper and lower teeth will be evaluated and adjusted if necessary. At this appointment, digital scanning or impressions may be taken to fabricate a protective night guard if that was part of your treatment plan. Post-op photos will also be taken to help you “show off” your new beautiful smile!
Cost will vary depending upon how many teeth are to be treated and the complexity of the process. Because this is a cosmetic procedure, it is unlikely that you will have insurance benefits to help but our team will absolutely assist in checking to verify this potential.
Do Veneers Stain?
Porcelain veneers are resistant to stains, if you are a heavy coffee or tea drinker or smoker you may have to brush your teeth more frequently to remove it but the stain will not be permanent.
Covered By Insurance?
Since dental veneers are considered a cosmetic, not a restorative or preventative service, most patients will not be covered by their dental insurance. Our office works with patients to provide payment plans and options to fit their needs and budget.
Veneers Special Care?
Much like the natural teeth, it is important to maintain a regular dental hygiene regimen to keep porcelain veneers looking beautiful. Although there are no special care instructions for veneers, patients are encouraged to schedule routine dental exams and cleanings in addition to brushing, flossing, and maintaining a healthy diet.
Porcelain veneers can address small cosmetic dental issues that are visible when you talk or smile. It’s the ideal solution for covering cracks and chips, as well as whitening severely stained teeth. We also use veneers to close slight gaps between your front teeth. Many times veneers are used to do a complete smile makeover to enhance the beauty and functional wear problems together.
Patients looking to improve their teeth or smile should schedule a consultation with Dr. Gore for the best dental care in Scottsdale, for a beautiful and GOREgeous smile.
