For patients that only need small cosmetic improvements to improve their smile, dentist Dr. Rod Gore offers dental bonding at his office in Scottsdale, AZ. Dental bonding applies a special resin (similar to what is used for tooth-colored fillings) to areas of the teeth that have cracks, chips, gaps, or need a little extra length. Once the resin is bonded with a special light, Dr. Gore can file and shape the resin to look and feel like the natural teeth for a long-lasting improvement to your smile.

"Dr. Gore has the best Scottsdale dental office and staff. One of my crowns installed years ago came off on Easter weekend. Even though it was a Monday and the day after Easter and they were fully booked he got me in to recement my crown. Thank you Dr. Gore!"- D.D. / Google / Apr 10, 2017
"I just moved to AZ two weeks ago and I had a fall while walking my dogs managing to scrape my face and break a front tooth. I was referred to Dr. Gore's office and was seen by Dr. Sebree. When I first met her I was skeptical as she looked 18 years old and new to the business. Boy, was I wrong! She was professional, detailed and meticulous with rebuilding my tooth and making sure it looked just like the others. She is went back and forth looking at it at every angle before she was satisfied with her work. I highly recommend Dr. Sebree and am thrilled with her work!"- K.H. / Google / Apr 03, 2017
Dental bonding does not require local anesthetic or sedation, but some patients may want it for increased comfort during the procedure. During the bonding process, we will use a shade guide to select a composite resin that closely matches the color of the patient’s tooth. To prepare the teeth and help the resin bond to the natural teeth, we will texturize the surface and apply a conditioning liquid. Then, the tooth-colored, putty-like resin material is applied, molded, and smoothed to the desired shape on the tooth. Using a special light, the resin is set and the tooth is polished for a nice, natural finish. Typically, dental bonding only taking 30 – 60 minutes and it can be completed in one visit with no recovery time needed.
Estimate of Cost
The total cost of dental bonding will depend on how many teeth are being treated, but most patients spend $200 - $1,000 for the total procedure cost. Dental bonding is almost always a cosmetic procedure, so most dental insurance companies do not cover it, but our front office is happy to call and check for our patients.
How Long Does Bonding Last?
With good oral hygiene, the effects of dental bonding can last up 7 – 10 years. It is important for patients to maintain a good regimen of brushing, flossing, and regular visits to the dentist to maintain the quality of the bond.
Special Care for Bonded Teeth?
Bonded teeth should be treated just like regular teeth, which means good oral hygiene. However, because the bonded material is susceptible to chipping, patients will damage the resin faster if they continue habits such as biting fingernails and chewing on hard food or objects.
Benefits of Bonding?
Dental bonding is an effective and noninvasive procedure that can be used to fix a number of cosmetic tooth concerns. This treatment also helps to keep the teeth strong and healthy by strengthening the enamel. For patients who do not qualify or do not wish to undergo oral surgery, dental bonding can be a great choice for minor dental problems.
